MANILA -- Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2021 titleholder Sam Panlilio continues to strive to drive positive change and make a lasting impact in communities beyond her reign.

The 28-year-old multihyphenate had recently launched her Pangarap at Kalinga Foundation (PAK Foundation) in her hometown of Ternate, Cavite, which aims to uplift the underserved youth through empowerment and sustainable programs, focusing on education, healthcare, and livelihood projects.

“Our first project which we launched last week we are building three classrooms in my hometown in Ternate. For our next project, we will go to Bohol to donate a boat for kids who have to get from one island to another to class. We heard their boat has been flooding,” Panlilio said in an interview in Makati City, Wednesday afternoon.

“PAK was derived when I competed for Ms. Grand. My outfits were always extra for the pageant community so they coined the term Sam Pak,” she added.

The media personality and entrepreneur hopes to deepen her commitment and involvement in community work by taking her advocacy to the national level – as the second nominee of the incumbent AGIMAT party-list group.

“To me, legacy is very important. Now I have an actual title, I have done Miss U, I want to touch beyond my business. With this platform it would be the perfect place to do that,” she shared.

According to Panlilio, while it was her father who sparked her passion to uplift communities in need, the world of pageantry further fueled her dedication.

"My father being in land development, he says always, you have to give back to the community and take care of the people. I am firm believer if your business succeeds in a certain area, for me, that’s Cavite for example. You want to provide more jobs," she explained.

“I have to give it to my pageantry side. I exposed myself to Bb Pilipinas [and] that opened doors for me. It is so nice to pull out my business and work to help kids,” she added.

Although Panlilio emphasized she is currently focused on “building her own empire” and public service, she is still open to opportunities in pageantry as well as showbiz.

“I am not closing any doors to any opportunity. Pageantry helped me get inspired and be passionate in public service… I would also love to have a cameo in a horror film,” she said.
