Photo from Pawssion Project&#x27;s Facebook account</div>Piles of fallen trees, crushed huts, blown-off roofs, broken fence, scarce water supply, and impaired electrical wirings were some of the damage Typhoon Tino left when it struck an animal shelter in Barangay Granada in Bacolod on November 4. The typhoon brought intermittent yet heavy rains and strong winds in the area that started around 7 a.m. and lasted for hours before it subsided, leaving the shelter in need of extensive construction repair.Malou Perez, founder of non-profit animal welfare organization Pawssion Project, who resides next to the shelter, described how heartbreaking it was to see the damage.“Sabay-sabay ‘yung iniisip mo na ‘kailan na naman kaya tayo makakapag-save to fix those things?’ Because on top of that, we have vet bills to pay, we have to secure the supplies, and many others,” she told ABS-CBN News. However, despite the anxiety and worries that crossed her mind, she is grateful that over 400 rescue animals in their care and the stay-in caretakers were all safe. Due to the overwhelming damage, Pawssion Project has launched a donation drive to raise funds for rebuilding structures, securing enough food supplies for the rescue animals, and extending help to other affected shelters and neighboring houses.More details about the donation drive and channels are provided on their Facebook page and posts.<div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php%3Ffbid%3D1133749698970250%26set%3Da.545146617830564%26type%3D3&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="250" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>Along with the ongoing donation drive, they are also working on clearing the area from debris, fixing damaged electrical wirings, securing construction materials, and getting enough water supply.  Perez said they were planning on building one big hall within the shelter instead of additional huts for sturdier structure to ensure the pets’ safety in case another calamity happens. Pawssion Project is also receptive to any assistance beside monetary donations such as construction materials from any willing construction companies, food and medication supplies for the rescue animals, and volunteers to help in clearing operations and fixing of the shelter. But typhoon or not, the shelter’s doors are always open to volunteers.“Come meet the rescues. You can walk the rescues. You can sit down with an aloof dog or cat so they slowly come out of their shell and they have more chances of adoption. You can foster, especially now that we&#x27;re approaching the holiday season,” Perez said.Pawssion Project is open to short-term foster programs even just for one week or one month this December, for the rescue animals to experience how it is to have a family or a home this Christmas season. Perez hoped more people would spread the word. “Advocating really helps us a lot. It costs zero pesos to share a post. Malaking bagay na ‘yun not just to us, but of course to rescue animals who don’t have social media. The rescues who can never speak up for themselves.”She also requested people keep them in their prayers.“A lot of times, we may appear very strong, but we&#x27;re dealing with so many things already. There are really days when the emotional, physical, financial, mental toll is just a lot to handle. We keep going because we have a lot of prayer warriors, a lot of people rooting for us, a lot of people sending us random messages of support, and it really matters to us.”
