The event officially started at 3 a.m.</p><p>Kapamilya artists Jake Cuenca and Xyriel Manabat joined the run, alongside representatives from beneficiary organizations, families, and fur parents.</p><p>Cuenca urged pet owners to be more mindful of their animals.</p><p>Manabat, who said it was her first fun run in years, shared her motivation for joining, despite having come from work.</p><p>“First time ko kasing mag-fun run. Huling fun run ko ata 8 years old pa ko,” she said.</p><p>“Gusto ko rin maging active kahit galing ako ng work. Pinilit ko pa ring umabot kasi ang sarap lang na gumagalaw,” Manabat added.</p><p>She also encouraged the public to see physical activity as a way to cope with stress.</p><p>“Nakaka-clear siya ng mind. Kung feeling niyo masyado na kayong pinagbabagsakan ng mundo, walk or run. Sobrang nakakatulong sa inyo.&quot;</p><p>Fur parents brought their pets to the dog run, including Pasig resident Erwin Ensoy.</p><p>&quot;Oo, syempre. Ma-e-exercise po siya, kasi nasa bahay lang po siya e,” he said.</p><p>Families also joined the activity, with Manila resident Lorin Bindal and her son, Lucas.</p><p>“For health first. Tapos para we stay young,” she said.</p><p>&quot;Para ma-achieve ang first medal ko,” Lucas added.</p><p>Save the Children Philippines said proceeds from the run would support programs for vulnerable children.</p><p>“The support that we are getting from this run will help us continue the work that we are doing, especially sa mga pinakanangangailangan na bata sa bansa natin,” said AIA Tabal, OIC for Fundraising and Marketing.</p><p>“One of the flagship program of Save the Children ay ang aming Catch-up Club… we are really advocating for children to have access to education,” Tabal shared one of their key initiatives in their organization.</p><p>PAWS also used the event to remind pet owners about animal safety during the holiday season.</p><p>“We usually celebrate the holiday season with a lot of fireworks and many dogs and cats are usually scared of fireworks,” said Frederick Lasmarias, PAWS Humane Education Officer.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/9/25/fwd-launches-insurance-plan-for-pet-lovers-partners-with-paws-1444">FWD launches insurance plan for pet lovers, partners with PAWS</a></div><p>He added practical reminders for fur parents: “Some tips na you might want to take note of: on the day na expected na magkakaroon ng fireworks, please make sure that your pets are all indoors.&quot;</p><p>“Keep them company, if you can, during those times.
