Karen Flores Layno, ABS-CBN News </div>Prepare your wallets, book lovers: Big Bad Wolf is returning to Manila this week. The event, marketed as the world&#x27;s biggest book sale, will be held for the first time at V-Mall in Greenhills, San Juan from May 23 to June 2. Over 2 million books across a variety of genres await customers (with prices starting at P60), as well as discounts and other surprises. And as always, admission is free. The move to V-Mall is part of Big Bad Wolf&#x27;s efforts to reach a wider market -- recent editions of the book sale have been held in shopping centers across the country, such as Trinoma in Quezon City, Glorietta in Makati, and SM Seaside City in Cebu. &quot;Last year, we did something really big in terms of reaching out to new customers, those who have never seen or known us, or probably not even reading,&quot; Big Bad Wolf co-founder Jacqueline Ng told ABS-CBN News.&quot;So if we go to the smaller cities, if we go to a lot of malls, the general public can stumble upon us. They discover us, and they discover books,&quot; she added. &quot;And I hope that will create the reading habit in them that will be sustainable.&quot;Price has always been a selling point for Big Bad Wolf, which has been attracting large crowds since its launch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009. It has been touring over a dozen other countries in Asia, including the Philippines. Ng, however, believes that another secret to Big Bad Wolf&#x27;s success and staying power is the quality of books they provide: &quot;If you just offer good books at a higher price, that&#x27;s not going to work. If we offer very low-price books, but not very good titles, it&#x27;s also not going to work. So that when they go to those tables, they can see the current bestsellers that they probably heard about, &quot;Ng said. &quot;So we put those in front so they could get accustomed to it first. The young working adults there are very hungry for knowledge, so they get business books or self-improvement books. It&#x27;s probably half-adult books, half-children&#x27;s books, which is the biggest percentage,&quot; she said, adding, &quot;Compare this to other countries, where you see the whole trolley it&#x27;s 90% children&#x27;s books. Even if the adults read, they will just pick up a few books for themselves, a lot more hobby-based like cooking or design... but majority [of the books] are for children.&quot;&quot;So I think it&#x27;s a very unique thing about the Philippines, where we really get to interact with customers who are book lovers to begin with,&quot; she noted. &quot;So there&#x27;s a lot of very meaningful interaction with customers where they are excited about the titles, about the authors... compared to if you are just buying for the kids.
