MANILA - The 36 official candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2025 dazzled at the much-anticipated Press Presentation and Preliminary Competition today, May 22,2025, setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable coronation night next month.The event featured two segments, with the ladies confidently strutting the stage in vibrant fuchsia pink one-piece swimsuits before transforming into visionaries of elegance in evening gowns created by Filipino designers.Among the early favorites is Kathleen Enid Espenido of Siargao, a familiar face to fans as a former housemate on Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10.Reflecting on her performance, Espenido said, “Well, I think I really did a good job. I’m really looking forward to the finals, and I think I’m going to do a good job at the finals as well.” When asked what gives her an edge, she shared, “I think it’s my story. Some of you who watch Pinoy Big Brother—I hope that I inspire everyone as well.”Jemille Rustia Zosa, representing Mandaluyong, is stepping into the pageant world for the first time. “For me as a first-timer, I’m very grateful. I’m also very happy for my co-candidates that we were able to put up a good show,” she saidFrom Makati, Jercy Raine Cruz expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “I’m very grateful to be here standing alongside my 36 co-candidates. Ang gaganda nilang lahat, ang sesexy nila, and to be part of this organization—it’s really something else. I’m looking forward to more activities,” she said enthusiastically.Batangas’ Ann De Mesa, meanwhile, highlighted her readiness. “I’m actually very prepared for this since last year, so I’m really happy that I was able to perform and hopefully same lang sa coronation night,” she shared.Also in attendance was entrepreneur and social media personality Dani Barretto, who served as one of the preliminary judges. “I’m so glad that Binibining Pilipinas asked us to be one of the sponsors for this year’s pageant. It’s been a dream—my gosh! Every little girl’s dream is to be a beauty queen, and to be asked to be a judge today… I was so nervous because it’s my first time. Syempre babae ka eh, and the last thing you want is to judge kapwa babae. But I was very fair. I love the girls—they’re all so beautiful. Sinundan ko talaga ‘yung journey nila ng buong Binibini,” she said.Reigning Binibining Pilipinas International Myrna Esguerra also graced the event and shared her insights on what the judges are looking for. “Binibining Pilipinas is really looking for someone who’s being herself, enjoying every moment while she’s on stage, and giving the best smile she could give. I saw some of that in a few of the Binibinis, and I’m just really excited. A lot of them are really having fun,” she said.The Binibining Pilipinas 2025 Coronation Night will be held on June 15 at the Araneta Coliseum, where a new set of queens will be crowned to represent the country on the international stage.
