Quezon City library offers free online Japanese lessons

<p>The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) is bringing back its free Japanese lessons starting June 19, with registration still ongoing for the 500 participants per session.</p><p>First launched in 2019, the program is initiated by the Quezon City government in partnership with Jellyfish Education Philippines, Inc. This year, classes start from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. via Zoom.</p><p>The free Japanese language program has successfully produced 3,642 graduates since its launch, with 172 from the most recent batch last month, May 22.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1750138904227QC.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"/></div><div><br/></div><p>Mayor Joy Belmonte said the free classes aim to provide opportunities for learning for every QCitizen, according to the Quezon City Government website.</p><p>The course is beginner-friendly as it covers the basics of both language and cultural aspects, providing comprehensive insight into the Japanese culture.</p><p>With experienced instructors and volunteers from Jellyfish Education Philippines, Inc., participants will learn about Japanese grammar and vocabulary, including the essentials of Hiragana and Katakana writing systems, as well as delve into Japanese customs, etiquette, and cultural practices.</p><p>Registration is on a first come, first serve basis, through this <a href="https://forms.gle/cS3GuFaQ9qVdKUQ59">link</a>. </p><p>The class will accommodate the first 500 registrants for its first session, who will receive a confirmation through email. Participants must confirm their attendance within 24 hours, and will then receive the Zoom access credentials.</p><p>Upcoming class schedules for the next sessions will be officially announced on QCPL’s Facebook page.</p>
