MANILA -- After five successful stage productions, with the most recent the upcoming “Sideshow: The Musical,” Kapamilya actor CJ Navato believes he has found his calling in theater.

Navato is set to take on the role of Terry in the stage production, which tells the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy. The run is directed by Toff de Venecia and the Musical  direction by Ejay Yatco.

“Na-enjoy ko talaga po. I think doon yung puso ko, this is where it was calling me. Iba joy nararamdaman ko, I keep wanting more. Gusto ko balikan prods ko kung pwede. Ang dami ko pwede matutunan,” he said on Wednesday.

“Theather lang din makabigbay ng chance ma showcase kung ano kaya ko— magpatawa, singing, dancing, acting, magpaiyak. Gusto ko magpasaya ng tao,” he added.

The actor was considered in the Best Actor in a Musical category of the Aliw Awards.

“Thankful ako na-nominate ako. Panalo na iyon, It felt I must be where I should be,” he reasoned.

With a string of productions already under his belt such as “Charot,”and “Liwanag da Dilim,”  Navato said theater is still a  constant learning experience.

“Hindi ako naubusan. I never felt more 'wala ako alam.' Bago sakin. Ang dami ko need kalimutan,” he said.  “Theater is not just camera, but radiating the personality. Perfectionist ako, I want to push myself.”
