Filipino talent showcased in PH Independence Day celebrations in Turkiye

Handout"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The Philippine Madrigal Singers performing in the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara, Turkiye. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><p>A world-renowned Filipino choral group recently took part in Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Turkiye. </p><p>The Philippine Madrigal Singers (The Madz), with choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, held a concert as part of &quot;Kalayaan 127&quot; last May 29 at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Altindag, Ankara.</p><p>The event, hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Ankara, marks not only the 127th Philippine Independence Day, but also the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Turkiye. </p><p>The Madz performed for over 250 guests which were composed of members of the diplomatic community, Turkish government officials, members of the academe, and guests from the Philippines.</p><p>The group started the evening with prayerful melodies of &quot;The Prayer of St. Francis,&quot; &quot;O Sacrum Convivium,&quot; &quot;Sanctus,&quot; and &quot;Spaséñiye, sodélal,&quot; and ended their first set with Benedict Sheehan&#x27;s &quot;In the Wondrous Blending of Sounds&quot; and Ryan Cayabyab&#x27;s &quot;Paraiso.&quot;</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SRE2Jv4nU1s?&amp;list=PL_416bUUN_rmDHnThecp52-VlyHl_eHK6&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>During the second part of their concert, The Madz sang international songs from Russia, India, Lebanon, and Turkiye.
