At a young age, he became the first Filipino ever to audition and gain entry to the Barbara Speake Stage School, a performing arts center connected to June Collins, wife of legendary Genesis frontman Phil Collins. At three years old, he played Tam in the West End production of &quot;Miss Saigon.&quot; He had repeat engagements playing all the male child roles in the Palladium production of “The King and I” from 1994 until 2002 where he earned a UK Best Child Actor nomination for his portrayal of the eldest Prince Chulalongkorn.He moved to the Philippines as he was turning 16 just in time to get launched in Star Magic Batch 15 with the likes of Jessy Mendiola and Bela Padilla. This period also saw his Philippine theater debut in Stages’ &quot;West Side Story&quot; and Atlantis’ &quot;Hairspray.&quot;“I was a very impatient kid,” recalls Andrews. As there was very little happening in the Philippines, he moved back to London and then to Los Angeles in the United States to hone his craft. He was no longer, in his words, the cute kid actor. &quot;I needed to figure out how to do this as an adult, and it&#x27;s a whole different ball game,&quot; says Andrews about his time in LA while talking about his rigorous training, taking singing, dance, and acting workshops, while at the same time, deepening his personal growth as a worship leader at the Fearless LA church.The pandemic brought Andrews back to the UK and eventually, in a full-circle moment, back to the Philippines after nearly 15 years. His presence on social media platform Kumu then led him to the famous yellow house in &quot;PBB Season 10 Kumunity.&quot;Apart from hosting and television gigs, Andrews has become a busy theater actor working with different local theater companies, appearing in &quot;Ang Huling El Bimbo,&quot; &quot;Tabing Ilog,&quot; &quot;The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,&quot; &quot;Rent,&quot; &quot;Once on This Island,&quot; and a straight play reading of &quot;Little Women.&quot; In 2022, he saw “Joseph the Dreamer” starring Sam Concepcion, who encouraged him to audition. Andrews just wanted to be part of the musical but was surprised when he found out he was considered for the lead role as an alternate. He sees a profound connection between himself and the biblical character, citing shared experiences of being a dreamer, facing setbacks, and maintaining faith. &quot;I&#x27;ve been fighting to have an opportunity like this, to have a lead role like this for a long time.&quot;Andrews describes his portrayal of Joseph as raw and deeply personal. &quot;I&#x27;m really wearing my heart on my sleeve in this one; you&#x27;re gonna see me raw, all of the emotions just there.&quot; He aims to use his own life experiences, including moments of doubt and perseverance, to fuel the character, believing that audiences, particularly after the past five years, will relate to Joseph&#x27;s journey through adversity.Jordan is a fan of local theater, watching all the local productions he can. Jeeves de Veyra</div>He is still chasing his dream roles -- Dominican Republic upstart Usnavi in “In The Heights/,” the Cockney geezer Bert in “Mary Poppins,” and demon barber “Sweeney Todd.” But for the next two weekends, it will be a treat to see Jordan Andrews, musical dream chaser, turn into Joseph the Dreamer.<div>The Trumpets’ production of “Joseph The Dreamer” will have a limited run from July 11-13 and 18-20, 2025, at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza.</div>
