Top Supermodel to hold cultural runway event in Intramuros

“We are the first fashion brand to hold modeling competitions with a focus on public speaking. While displaying their modeling abilities, participants are also asked to speak about issues that are important to them. In fact, one of the segments is our version of a Q&A session, which will put their communication skills to the test,” Membrere told ABS-CBN News.

Asked if they had already received help from cultural groups or the government, Membrere replied, “Top Supermodel has also the LGU shows. An LGU show is a pocket event. We are going to four LGUs across the country. But the very, very first show in the Philippines is an LGU show. It's going to be an auction.”

Membrere, who mentored Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Datul, added, “Yes, we do have support in terms of hosting the event, in terms of promotions, but at the same time as again, it's a cross-cultural event, so it's a give-and-take relationship kind of event.”

The founder and pageant expert also told ABS-CBN News that internationally renowned fashion designer Michael Cinco has reaffirmed his support for Top Supermodel.

“Michael Cinco is very interested as a judge for the competition. Very supportive naman talaga siya sa amin. Despite Michael’s success, Michael remains reachable. Mahal ko siya,” she said.

Top Supermodel welcomed three Australian models to the Philippines for their nationwide launch, where they would compete while donning Filipino gowns.

Each of the three contenders shared deeply personal views on why they entered the competition and what they intend to accomplish beyond the crown.

Jordan Michelle Smith, who is new to modeling, described the experience as transforming. She declared her intention to become an international teacher and use her Top Supermodel status to establish organizations that assist children in poor regions.

“To become the next top supermodel would truly be an honor,” Smith said.

Gracie Baker, who has over ten years of modeling experience and a degree in fashion and business, discussed using the platform to raise awareness for stage three endometriosis, which she was recently diagnosed with.

“This competition can bring it to people’s homes and encourage women to get checked,” she shared.

Stevie Hearl, on the other hand, stressed the value of representation. As an Indigenous Australian, she hopes to utilize her platform to inspire other Indigenous youngsters to follow their ambitions.

“I want to be a voice and an advocate for Indigenous children who don’t have one,” she said.

Top Supermodel recently announced the launch of two major runway events in the Philippines, with the goal of exposing talent, encouraging cross-cultural initiatives, and boosting socioeconomic growth. These events — the Preliminary & International Runway, currently slated for September 27 and 28 in Intramuros in Manila, and the TTSM Kaleidoscope with six LGU partners — represent a transforming opportunity for aspiring models, designers, and artists.

They also announced the construction of the Australia-Philippines Art Skills Center, which will serve as a dedicated learning venue. This center's mission is to uplift women, assist the LGBTQ+ community, and empower today's youth by providing comprehensive fashion and arts education.
