Handout</div>MANILA — Rockwell&#x27;s long-anticipated Proscenium Theater is set to raise its curtains for the very first time with the Manila premiere of &quot;The Bodyguard The Musical,&quot; marking the theater’s official debut as a performance venue, it was announced Thursday.Produced by 9 Works Theatrical, the musical opens this September and serves as the Proscenium’s inaugural production. It will be directed by Robbie Guevara, with musical direction from Daniel Bartolome. Based on the 1992 blockbuster film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the stage adaptation follows global pop icon Rachel Marron and the former Secret Service agent hired to protect her from a dangerous stalker. As threats close in, an unexpected romance unfolds — set to some of the most iconic songs of the era.Featuring a score packed with Whitney Houston’s greatest hits — including “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” and “Run to You” — &quot;The Bodyguard The Musical&quot; has played to sold-out audiences in over 15 countries and on London’s West End. The Manila production will feature a mix of local and international talents.The Proscenium Theater, located at Rockwell Center in Makati, boasts a 16x16-meter stage, fully automated fly lines, and a dedicated orchestra pit. Even its farthest seats in the Dress Circle are just 20 meters from the stage, ensuring an intimate and immersive experience for every guest.Guests can also enjoy the surrounding Proscenium Retail Row’s dining options and the nearby Power Plant Mall before or after the show.Tickets go on general sale beginning July 9 at 10 a.m. via premier.ticketworld.com.ph.
