Obviously the park wasn&#x27;t closed just for us, which means it also welcomed regular guests — and it was a Saturday. </p><p>The huge crowds and the brutal heat of Hong Kong&#x27;s summer could&#x27;ve easily ruined the mood, but HKDL&#x27;s lineup of activities plus the positive energy all around turned it into a fun, memorable experience. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751607374776HKDL_20A_Jammitors.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">HKDL&#x27;s &quot;Jammitors&quot; add to the lively vibe. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><p>As someone who has visited HKDL for work multiple times over the past two years, I initially thought I&#x27;ve already seen it all, down to the new Frozen-themed area (more of that <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/life/11/17/23/hong-kong-disneyland-launches-world-of-frozen">here</a>) and the heartwarming &quot;Momentous&quot; nighttime show (more of that <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/life/03/02/23/fountains-fireworks-in-hk-disneylands-nighttime-show">here</a>). </p><p>So I entered the park not expecting much — but in the end, I was still blown away.</p><p>Here&#x27;s why:</p><div><strong>&#x27;Momentous&#x27; on steroids</strong></div><p>For the uninitiated, &quot;Momentous&quot; is an HKDL-exclusive spectacle that takes place in the park every night, right before it closes. </p><p>In the 20-minute show, scenes showing different Disney characters are beamed onto the Castle of Magical Dreams using 3D projection mapping technology. And in true Disneyland fashion, it comes with all sorts of flashy things: fountains, flames, fireworks, lights. You name it, they have it. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751607776058HKDL_20A_The Most Magical Party of All_Momentous_Party in the Night Sky_3.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">And for HKDL&#x27;s 20th anniversary, they&#x27;ve added drones to the mix. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><p>&quot;Momentous,&quot; for me, is one of the biggest selling points of HKDL — this show will make you feel things, whether you&#x27;re a Disney fan or not. And just when I thought it couldn&#x27;t get any better, the show got an upgrade in time for the park&#x27;s 20th anniversary.</p><p>For an entire year, HKDL guests get to enjoy &quot;Momentous: Party in the Night Sky,&quot; an extended version not just in length, but also in scope. The show now runs for almost 30 minutes, beginning with a dazzling showcase of synchronized drones that arrange themselves into Disney-themed displays. </p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F704615369115391%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="314" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>During the kickoff celebrations, HKDL ambassadors Gisele Abejero (she&#x27;s a Filipina, more about her <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/life/12/09/23/meet-the-first-filipino-ambassador-of-hk-disneyland">here</a>) and Beyan Tse hyped up the crowd, along with a group of stage performers. </p><p>And then, the main event — going beyond the Castle of Magical Dreams, the projections now sweep down the entire length of Main Street, painting the night in colorful visuals. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751607667557HKDL_20A_The Most Magical Party of All_Momentous_Party in the Night Sky_11.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">&quot;Momentous&quot; now goes all the way to Main Street. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><div><strong>All-star parade, &#x27;party&#x27; at the castle</strong></div><p>If you&#x27;ve been to HKDL before, you know that there&#x27;s a parade held along Main Street multiple times a day. But it&#x27;s usually short, with the little carts carrying a random mix of mascots and a handful of performers.</p><p>But this year, HKDL has rolled out the red carpet for 11 intricately designed floats for &quot;Friendtastic,&quot; its largest and grandest parade to date. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1751608075698encanto.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">I mean, look at that &quot;Encanto&quot; float. <em>Handout</em></span></span></span></div><p>The floats range from cute to massive: there&#x27;s one carrying six Disney princesses, one with a life-size Baymax and smoke effects, one with a ton of flowers and the entire Madrigal family from &quot;Encanto,&quot; and, of course, one with Mickey Mouse and his crew, among others. </p><p>Complementing these masterpieces are over 100 performers, all in costume and out to make you sing and dance along during show stops.  </p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1282461889893656%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=267&amp;t=0" width="267" height="476" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Another 20th anniversary offering is the daytime show aptly titled &quot;Party at the Castle,&quot; held on the stage in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams. </p><p>It drizzled a bit while we were there so we didn&#x27;t get to catch the full performance — but it&#x27;s enough to say it&#x27;s a must-watch while you&#x27;re at the park. HKDL has prepared a slew of 20th anniversary items, from Godiva chocolates to bag charms, headbands, and clothing.</p><p>Naturally, all of the Disney characters featured in the park have dressed up for the occasion.
