SEGA reveals Pac-Man as new racer for upcoming ‘Sonic Racing’ game

<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1755744524729Screenshot 2025-08-21 at 9.32.33 AM.png" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Screengrab from SEGA/YouTube"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left"><em>Screengrab from SEGA/YouTube</em></span></span></span></div><p>SEGA, in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, has unveiled a new trailer for &quot;Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds&quot; during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live pre-show, confirming Pac-Man as the latest addition to the game’s Season Pass roster.</p><p>The trailer teased Pac-Man and the Ghosts as playable racers, along with a Pac-Man–themed track inspired by both the franchise’s classic arcade roots and modern iterations.</p><p>&quot;Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds&quot; launches September 25 both digitally and physically for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, starting at £64.99. Switch versions will begin at £54.99, with an upgraded Nintendo Switch 2 edition set for digital release later in 2025 and a physical launch in early 2026. Progress and content will transfer for players upgrading between Switch systems.</p><p>The game will feature an expanding roster of Sonic characters alongside crossover additions from SEGA franchises and beyond. Joker, Kasuga Ichiban and Hatsune Miku are slated to join post-launch as free updates. </p><p>The Digital Deluxe Edition adds characters from Netflix’s Sonic Prime and offers a Season Pass that includes guest racers and tracks from properties such as Pac-Man, Minecraft and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar. Players who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition will get early access starting Sept. 22.</p><p>Pre-orders for both the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions include Sonic the Werehog from Sonic Unleashed, a bonus vehicle and a decal.</p><p>The game will include multiple modes, such as Grand Prix, World Match, Friend Match, Race Park, Time Trial, Custom Match and a Rival System that pairs players with opponents for added competition.
