PopCap, EA revive ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ with ‘Replanted’ edition

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1754181938928525341929_1180412507451659_9120158635369337027_n.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>Plants vs. Zombies/FB</div>PopCap Studios and Electronic Arts Inc. announced last week the upcoming release of “Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted,” a remastered edition of the original tower defense strategy game that first launched in 2009.The updated version will feature enhanced HD graphics, new local co-op and player-versus-player (PvP) modes, and additional content that delves into the franchise’s development history. “Replanted” is set to launch Octobger 23 on PC and consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and its successor, as well as previous-generation systems.PopCap said “Replanted” will retain the series’ signature lane-based defense gameplay while introducing new modes like Cloudy Day, a challenge mode where sunlight and planting abilities are limited. Players can also expect classic minigames and a collection of behind-the-scenes content showcasing early designs and concept art from the franchise’s archives.The game will support local cooperative play, allowing two players to team up or compete in PvP matches for a more interactive backyard battle experience.Pre-orders are now available, with players receiving an exclusive 8-bit Peashooter skin as a bonus.“Plants vs. Zombies,” which debuted in 2009, became a global hit with its quirky blend of strategy gameplay and offbeat humor, spawning multiple sequels and spin-offs across mobile, console and PC platforms.Additional details and updates are available on PopCap Studios’ official website and social media channels.
