Cebu’s 2TinCans, Marco Polo Plaza team up for play ‘Love, Loss, and What I Wore’

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/175456329632903 LLWW-Group1.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div>CEBU — Local theater company 2TinCans Philippines and Marco Polo Plaza Cebu are bringing the acclaimed stage production &quot;Love, Loss, and What I Wore&quot; to life with a limited run at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom on Aug. 16 and 17 at 8 p.m.Written by sisters Nora and Delia Ephron and based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, the play is a series of monologues and ensemble pieces centered around women, clothing, and the memories they carry. From prom dresses to purses and shoes, the production turns wardrobe staples into storytelling touchstones.“Every woman has a dress that reminds her of something — her first love, her mother, her divorce, her power. This play gives voice to those hidden hangers in our closets,” said Sarah Mae Enclona-Henderson, 2TinCans&#x27; producing artistic director, who also joins the cast.Directed by Charlene Virlouvet, the Cebu staging features 2TinCans company members Liana San Diego, Mikee Amagsila, Regina Binueza, Shanice Kae Suarez, Shifrah Bouchikhi-Enclona and Vanessa Fe.The cast also includes Enclona-Henderson; Aleah Alerre Lim, a language school directress; award-winning journalist Andi Pateña-Matheu; social entrepreneur Anya Lim; singer-songwriter and beauty queen Victoria Leslie Ingram; and lawyers Elaine Bathan, Gingging Navarro-Laude, and Regal Oliva.Virlouvet described the play as a space for shared reflection. “This play can bridge the disconnect amongst generations of women. It can be a space for intergenerational conversations and sharing,” she said.Marco Polo Plaza Cebu general manager Maximilian Schwalbe said the event is part of the hotel’s push for deeper community engagement. “We want to host more cultural and social events like this for Cebuanos,” he said.Schwalbe added that ticket holders will receive perks including discounted room rates and dining privileges at Marco Polo restaurants from Aug. 15 to 18.Running alongside the performance is Stitched, a curated storytelling exhibit featuring garments and accessories paired with personal stories. “The goal is to show that fashion is more than just fabric; it’s a vessel for memory,” said Enclona-Henderson.Tickets are available via 2tincans-philippines.yapsody.com.
