McDonnell/InstagramAnnabelle McDonnell is ready to represent the Philippines on the international stage for the second time. </div>After <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/life/02/16/23/brazil-wins-miss-charm-2023-ph-bet-is-1st-runner-up">placing first runner-up in Miss Charm 2023</a>, the beauty queen and host will wear the Philippine sash in Albania this October for the Miss Globe 2025 pageant. &quot;I think I&#x27;m just as excited as I was the very first time I competed internationally and represented the country,&quot; she said during her send-off press conference organized by Binibining Pilipinas. &quot;However, at the same time, I think now I can definitely be more relaxed -- not in taking anything for granted, but just enough to trust in myself and, more importantly, trust the process of the training that I&#x27;ve done.&quot; &quot;I&#x27;m still very much excited, but this time around I&#x27;m much more calm and I&#x27;m not sweating the small stuff anymore,&quot; she added. McDonnell admits to feeling the pressure of performing well in Miss Globe, especially with many people dubbing her a &quot;pageant veteran,&quot; and also given the Philippines&#x27; strong placements in recent years. But instead of approaching it with fear, she chooses to welcome it. &quot;As I&#x27;ve said time and again, pressure is something that should be welcomed and should be met with a sense of determination -- to own up to it rather than to back down from it,&quot; she said. When asked why she believes she should be the next Miss Globe, McDonnell replied: &quot;I think I should be the next Miss Globe because I understand where people are coming from. I&#x27;ve understood what it feels like to be marginalized, what it feels like to be left out of conversations, and what it feels like to be judged on how you look like or where you come from, or what accent you&#x27;re speaking with.&quot; &quot;And when it comes to fostering camaraderie across a global community, I think I can definitely be somebody that&#x27;s ready to connect with people based on where they&#x27;re coming from, and moreover inspire them to be more than what other people have told them that they can be,&quot; she shared. McDonnell still has a few more weeks before she flies to Albania for Miss Globe 2025, and she is <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/9/10/annabelle-mcdonnell-all-set-for-miss-globe-2025-in-albania-1720">making the most out of every opportunity to train</a> for the pageant.Aside from planning her looks, practicing her walk, and honing her public speaking skills, <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/7/14/annabelle-mcdonnell-meets-up-with-maureen-montagne-as-she-prepares-for-miss-globe-pageant-1450">she also turned to Maureen Montagne, the Philippines&#x27; second Miss Globe titleholder, for advice</a>. McDonnell declared how pageantry has significantly changed her outlook in life, calling it &quot;a powerful vehicle to change your mind on what you can do or what you thought was possible.&quot; &quot;I never saw myself working out in a gym, I never saw myself knowing how to do my own makeup, let alone being in front of numerous people on an almost regular basis,&quot; she said. &quot;I was very introverted... I never saw myself in the limelight and I had to adapt.&quot;And while preparation is key, McDonnell has also learned the importance of being open to change after her years of experience in pageantry. &quot;Anything can happen at any time, and letting go of the small details, letting go of that control and just surrendering everything to God just makes everything easier to bear and lighter to deal with,&quot; she said. &quot;Obviously we make all our plans: outfit-wise, or whatever it may be. Whether it be strategy or some pasarela trick or two. But at the end of the day, sometimes God has other plans, but that doesn&#x27;t necessarily mean that he&#x27;s denying you or rejecting you,&quot; she went on. &quot;It&#x27;s always been some kind of blessing in disguise, and it just takes enough patience and trust to have that blessing.&quot;
