Movie.”</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/c1mTbYB6EOM?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>The new film is expected to feature the anthropomorphic star characters Lumas and their “adoptive mother” Rosalina. Mario’s dinosaur sidekick Yoshi is also expected to appear, following a tease at the end credits of the first movie.</p><p>Voice actors of “The Super Mario Bros. (Screenshot from Nintendo of America/YouTube)</span></span></span></div><p> “Super Mario Galaxy” and “Super Mario Galaxy 2” were first released on the Nintendo Wii in 2007 and 2010, respectively.</p><p>Both games were critically received, with entertainment website IGN even calling the first installment “the greatest Nintendo platformer ever made” at the time of its release.</p><p>The Galaxy series introduced the concept of platforming on spheres, as most of the game is played on different “planets” and “galaxies.” At the time, this has never been done before in any 2D or 3D Mario game, which usually takes place on level platform.</p><p>The two “Mario Galaxy” games will be available as a bundle on physical and digital stores, and as individual digital titles, on October 2.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>OTHER SURPRISES FOR MARIO’S 40TH YEAR</strong></div><div> </div><p>Aside from the “Mario Galaxy”-related announcement, Nintendo also had three new games in the pipeline for Mario’s ruby anniversary, all for its latest Switch 2 system.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1757713512352Nintendo of America - Nintendo Direct 9.12.2025 [tWIEv_aksvo - 978x550 - 11m56s].png" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">In-game use of a Fever Racket, which sends flaming balls on the opponent&#x27;s court. <em>(Screenshot from Nintendo of America/YouTube)</em></span></span></span> </div><p>The use of Fever Rackets is the main quirk in “Mario Tennis Fever,” the latest in the Mario Tennis franchise. Racking up the Fever meter in the game will enable the player to do a super-charged Fever shot.</p><p>The game also features various modes, such as Tournament, Trial Towers, Adventure, and Mix It Up, where matches come with a variety of rules. “Mario Tennis Fever” releases on February 12, 2026.</p><p>“Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” hailed for giving a refreshed take on 2D Mario games, is also headed to Switch 2 with a new dedicated multiplayer arena in Bellabel Park. Meanwhile, a new Yoshi game was also teased, where the green dinosaur explores various creatures from a mysterious book.</p><p>Both “Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park” and “Yoshi and the Mysterious Book” are slated for a Spring 2026 release.</p><p>For those looking to secure some video game merchandise, Nintendo will also be making Rosalina’s storybook from “Super Mario Galaxy” an actual book, available in the future. The Talking Flower from “Super Mario Bros.
