HandoutMANILA — UNICEF Philippines has launched the Hiraya Collection, a line of all-occasion cards and merchandise created in collaboration with Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), the country’s leading collective of children’s book illustrators.</div>The limited-edition collection, unveiled this month, aims to raise funds for programs benefiting vulnerable children. “Hiraya” is a Filipino term that signifies deep hope and aspiration, which the collection reflects through designs that depict the childhood every child deserves.“This is our first time releasing an all-occasion line of cards, as we usually launch our greeting cards during the Christmas season,” said Carmen Gonzalez Ortiz, UNICEF Philippines’ chief of private sector fundraising. “We are constantly looking for creative and meaningful ways to drive more support for children. The Hiraya Collection is a perfect example of how art and advocacy can come together to tell stories of children all year round  and promote life-changing programs that will bring them a step closer to a brighter future.”<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1757320315670New Project 3.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>Kat Melo and Al Estrella. HandoutEach piece in the collection was inspired by childhood memories of Ang INK members. Ceramic artist and illustrator Iori Espiritu designed Sama-Sama, Salo-Salo, which shows children gathering ingredients for a meal, highlighting the need for proper nutrition. Designer and illustrator Kat Melo’s Sayaw ng Santan recalls making flower bracelets from santan blossoms, while illustrator and teacher Al Estrella created Pangalawang Tahanan (Second Home), emphasizing the classroom as a vital space for children’s education.</div>The Hiraya Collection includes a set of UNICEF cards for every occasion with 12 unique designs (P1,000) and a UNICEF tote bag with a keychain in three designs (P1,500). Other UNICEF merchandise includes a mini backpack charm (P1,200), mnotebooks (P500), and gift bags (P200).<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1757320642718Photo 6_UNICEF Merch.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>Other UNICEF merchandise. HandoutIn 2024, UNICEF said it provided more than 26,000 children with emergency supplies after landslides and floods. Proceeds from the Hiraya Collection will support UNICEF programs on education, health and nutrition, immunization, child protection, climate resilience, and emergency response.</div>The collection is available exclusively through the UNICEF Giving Shop, the organization’s official online store.
