<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178246259840220230126-sano-mural-sterten-JC-1287.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Maginhawa St. in Quezon City is seen in this 2023 file photo. Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</div>QUEZON CITY — Maginhawa Street will be transformed into a pedestrian festival site on Saturday, June 27, as it hosts the first Maginhawa Pride Village in partnership with the Quezon City government.The event will run from 9 a.m. to midnight along Maginhawa Street, from Magiting Street to Mapagkawanggawa Street, and will feature local businesses, live performances, food stalls, art exhibits and community activities.Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the festival highlights the city&#x27;s commitment to diversity and inclusion.“Pride is about creating spaces where everyone, regardless of their SOGIE, feels seen, respected, and safe. In Quezon City, we celebrate diversity because it makes our communities stronger,”Belmonte said.Organizers said more than 50 merchants are expected to participate in the daylong celebration.Activities will begin in the morning with Zumba sessions, legal consultations by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Quezon City Chapter, performances by the Quezon City Symphonic Band and interactive booths from partner organizations.Afternoon performances will feature local musicians and bands, while the evening program will include a fashion runway event, live music performances and drag shows.Among the featured performers are Moon Dream City, Shirebound, The Ridleys, Fitterkarma, and drag artists Zymba Ding and Bomba Ding.The Maginhawa Pride Village is organized by Food Community Inc., the Quezon City government, Pride PH and Globe Telecom, with support from several private and civic organizations.
