Cuantos años ya ta conduci este actividad pero este el primera vez que ya planta largo mesa con canun y lechon como “boodle fight” donde ya puede participa maga vivientes.</p><p>Ya recivi premio maga lechonero y maga barangay quien tiene el de con todo sabroso lechon y de con todo bonito preparacion.</p><p>Cuantos lang este na serca ochenta actividades del Hermosa Festival que ya principia del Setiembre 27 con Parade of Lights y Fluvial Parade.</p><p>Ta esta afretao el seguridad na todo’l maga actividad.</p><p>El Hermosa Festival ta celebra cada a-12 del Octubre en honor del patron del ciudad, el Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar. Puera con maga actividades, ta conduci tambien novena mass na milagrosa Fortaleza del Pilar, el manera del maga Zamboangueños para rindi gracias por el proteccion que pirmi este ta dale con maga vivientes.</p><div> </div><div><strong>200 boatmen compete in this year’s Regatta de Zamboanga</strong></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17600935330093.jpeg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>ZAMBOANGA -- Vibrant sails painted the coastline of Zamboanga City as over 200 vintas took to the waters in this year&#x27;s Regatta.</p><p>The participants were grouped in 10 clusters with the winner in each group advancing to the final round.</p><p>Vinta number 51, owned by Danny Ladja from Barangay Sinunuc, took home the P52,000 cash prize. Ladja is a consistent winner in past vinta competitions.</p><p>Four other boatmen also won cash prizes, while the winner of the most colorful sail went home with P10,000 cash prize.</p><p>Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Dato Abdul Malik Castelino Bin Anthony, who is in Zamboanga for the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) golf tournament, lauded the local government for the various activities prepared for this year’s Hermosa Festival. This is his second time to watch the colorful vinta race. The Malaysian envoy says the festival “brings out the rich culture of the city.”</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17600935543474.jpeg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>After the race, visitors and spectators were invited to the Wow, Sardines, also an annual activity of the festival. Various sardine companies served sardines and crackers in their respective booths. Zamboanga City, home to at least 13 sardine companies, proudly bears the title “Sardines Capital of the Philippines.”</p><p>The festivities continued with the Asao Lechon Festival, where lechoneros and participating barangays paraded their crispiest creations. A long table that stretched along RT Lim Boulevard served rice and lechon for free. Prizes were awarded to the Most Delicious Lechon and Best in Presentation.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17600935705215.jpeg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>These are just some of the almost 80 activities of Hermosa Festival which kicked off last September 27 with a Parade of Lights and Fluvial Parade.</p><p>Security was tight in the venue.</p><p>The Hermosa Festival is held every 12th of October in honor of the City&#x27;s patroness, Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar. Each afternoon, a novena Mass is offered at the miraculous Fort Pilar Shrine -- Zamboangueños&#x27; way of giving thanks for the continual protection she extends to her people.</p>
