Today, breweries are opening dedicated drinking spaces, staging festivals, and expanding into new districts across Metro Manila.The latest example comes from Engkanto Brewery, which has opened Engkanto Taps Bridgetowne, a new craft beer destination beside Opus Mall and its first location serving communities in Quezon City near the Pasig border.The opening follows Mabrewhay Craft Beer Festival 2026, another busy chapter in Engkanto&#x27;s efforts to grow the local craft beer scene. &quot;Our excitement is on another level with Taps finally opening in Quezon City, one of the biggest cities here in the country,&quot; said Engkanto managing director Ricard Basora.According to Basora, the new location builds on the momentum of the brewery&#x27;s existing Taps locations while helping expand the local craft beer community.<div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782470570441Interior Taps Bridgetowne_-11.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>At Bridgetowne, visitors can choose from 10 beers on tap, including several of Engkanto&#x27;s most recognized releases. Among them are High Hive Honey Ale, named World&#x27;s Best Beer in its category at the World Beer Awards 2024, and Paint Me Purple Ube Lager, which received a gold medal in the Filipino Style category at the inaugural Philippine Beer Cup.Other offerings include Live It Up Lager and Mango Nation Hazy IPA, as well as rotating limited releases and collaborations.For those still unfamiliar with the world of craft beer, the venue offers beer flights that let guests sample four brews in smaller portions before committing to a full pour.Ordering a beer is usually a straightforward decision. Ordering a craft beer can sometimes feel less so, especially for people unfamiliar with different styles. A beer flight offers an easy way in. Rather than committing to a full pint, guests can sample several brews in a single sitting and discover what appeals to them.The menu also includes cocktails built around Engkanto beers. The Sampa-Loca Highball incorporates Green Lava Double IPA, while the Nutty &amp; Nice-presso reimagines the espresso martini using Nutty &amp; Nice Choco-Nut Stout.&quot;Since the first Taps opened, the Engkanto team has grown more together with the craft community through sharing authentic and fantastic experiences,&quot; said Engkanto founder Ian Paradies. &quot;This allows us to show our passion for great local beers and our skills in curating unique drinks and different dishes.&quot;<div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782470615183DSCF7525.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>Food is also part of the experience. Rosa, Laguna, I&#x27;d say the locals have found the nicest spot for beers and food,&quot; said Michael &quot;MJ&quot; Jordan, brewmaster of Engkanto.The new location is on the ground floor of GBF Center 1, along C-5 Road, and is open daily from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Whatever happens next, local craft beer appears to be running out of reasons to stay small.
