Handout</div>MANILA — Fifteen restaurants and wine-focused dining destinations in the Philippines were recognized in the 2026 Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards, earning distinctions for the quality and depth of their wine programs.The annual awards, presented by Wine Spectator, recognize establishments around the world whose wine lists demonstrate excellence in selection, presentation and service.Among the Philippine honorees, four establishments received the Best of Award of Excellence, the program&#x27;s second-highest distinction. These were Finestra at Solaire Resort Entertainment City in Parañaque, Finestra at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, La Piazza at Okada Manila, and M Dining + Bar in Makati.The remaining 11 establishments received Awards of Excellence: Ayà in Makati; The Cellar in Bonifacio Global City; Hapag in Makati; Il Lupino Prime Trattoria &amp; Wine Bar in Quezon City; Kong in Makati; Old Manila at The Peninsula Manila; three branches of Wolfgang&#x27;s Steakhouse by Wolfgang Zwiener in Mandaluyong, Pasay and Taguig; Wolfgang&#x27;s Steakhouse Grill by Wolfgang Zwiener in Parañaque; and World Cellar at Gateway Mall 2 in Quezon City.According to Wine Spectator, Award of Excellence recipients feature wine lists that offer a carefully selected range of quality producers and complement their food offerings in both style and price. Best of Award of Excellence winners present broader selections with greater depth across multiple wine-growing regions and vintages.The list reflects the growing sophistication of the Philippine dining scene, with wine programs spanning a wide range of cuisines, including Italian, French, Spanish, Asian, and European.Italian cuisine was particularly well represented among this year&#x27;s honorees through establishments such as Finestra, La Piazza and Il Lupino Prime Trattoria &amp; Wine Bar, while several steakhouse concepts also made the list through Wolfgang&#x27;s Steakhouse and Wolfgang&#x27;s Steakhouse Grill locations.Many of the award-winning wine programs highlighted strengths in classic wine-producing regions, including Bordeaux and Burgundy in France, Tuscany and other regions of Italy, California&#x27;s Napa Valley, and major wine regions in Spain.For 2026, Wine Spectator recognized more than 4,000 restaurants and dining establishments across more than 85 countries.The awards are divided into three categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award, the publication&#x27;s highest recognition for restaurant wine programs.
