Handout</div>Designers Axel Que, Chynna Mamawal and Jaki Peñalosa will headline the runway presentation at the fifth Brides at Triton Wedding Expo, set for March 21 to 22 at the Triton Grand Ballroom of Jpark Island Resort &amp; Waterpark in Cebu.The annual bridal expo will also collaborate this year with the International Fashion and Arts Weekend (IFAW), led by international fashion show director Limuel Hayag Vilela of Spotlight Couronne Internationale (SCI), bringing a global creative perspective to the event while continuing to highlight Filipino craftsmanship.Organizers said the 2026 edition carries the theme “Promise in Paradise,” reflecting the idea of celebrating weddings in a luxury island setting while honoring love, commitment and shared experiences.“For me, ‘Promise in Paradise’ means a shared commitment,” Vilela said in a statement, noting that his decade-long work directing fashion runways has taken him to cities including New York, Paris and Manila. “As a show director, my goal is simple — to bring a global feel to Cebu’s biggest bridal event and create something memorable.”The collaboration between IFAW and the bridal expo also underscores Cebu’s growing presence in the international fashion and creative scene, positioning the city as a venue where local talent and global perspectives meet.Beyond the runway, the expo will gather wedding suppliers, designers and creatives, offering soon-to-be-wed couples ideas and connections for planning their celebrations. The resort venue will showcase a range of wedding settings, from ballroom receptions to beachfront and garden ceremonies.One of IFAW’s flagship initiatives, the SCI Bootcamp, will also highlight personality development programs for children and teenagers aimed at promoting inclusivity within the fashion industry.Ahead of the event, organizers held a model casting call in January to select aspiring and professional models who will participate in the bridal runway show.The fashion presentation will feature collections from the three Filipino designers, each offering a distinct interpretation of bridal style.Peñalosa, a veteran designer from Iloilo, said her collection draws inspiration from Filipino heritage, incorporating indigenous textiles such as abaca, cocoon and piña as part of her advocacy to promote traditional fabrics.Que, an emerging designer from Cebu, described his pieces as avant-garde, blending art installation and fashion with inspiration drawn from his vision of “the paradise of heaven.”Mamawal, a Manila-based designer known for tailoring influenced by Savile Row, said her collection explores “romantic resilience” through soft textures, sculptural floral details and fluid silhouettes, paired with modern menswear pieces that combine precise tailoring with contemporary design.The runway will also mark the launch of SCI PH Weddings, a bridal line under the SCI brand that aims to offer what organizers describe as “inclusive and affordable luxury” for modern couples.
