Instead of replacing clothes, we transform and elevate what already exists into something that feels new and intentional. It goes beyond aesthetics, it’s about storytelling through garments. Whether through silhouette, structure, or curated combinations of materials, each piece reflects both the individual and our creative direction. <em>Paano nga ba namin nababalanse? Sa totoo lang, doon mismo nagiging</em> exciting and challenging.”</p><p>“<em>May </em>limitations<em> kami...</em>existing garments and curated materials but instead of seeing it as a restriction, <em>ginagawa namin siyang </em>creative direction. It pushes us to think deeper and design more meaningfully, while staying grounded in responsible production. In many ways, limitations inspire creativity. We craft pieces that are thoughtful, unique, and made to last here design and sustainability naturally come together.” </p><div> <strong>Express yourself: Discover the joy of customization</strong>  </div><p>Guests can explore charms and trinkets from Studio MG.88, experiment with bag and charm combinations from Style Isle and Casa Inez, and discover custom engraving through brooches and necklaces from Alchemista. Piesa introduces a jewelry making experience inspired by <em>halo halo</em>. Viajecito also invites guests to mix and match bags and straps, allowing shoppers to create combinations that match their own style. </p><p>Additional stations include Vesti, where guests can customize their own bag, and Boop MNL, which offers scarves for dogs and cats that can be personalized with the names of their pets.</p><p>ABS-CBN Lifestyle spoke to some of the creatives behind the Filipino brands that are located on SPATIO’s third floor Escolta area.</p><div><strong>Danielle Noval, Brand and Creative Director, </strong><strong>CASA INEZ<span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:514px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17756943001453. These come together to bring you pieces you can whisk away to a beach getaway, haul along for a city crawl, or add for a pop of handmade charm.” </p><div><strong>What have you observed about how customers express themselves through customization? Are there patterns or surprises? </strong></div><p>“It&#x27;s fun to see how our customers mix-and-match our bag charms with the rest of their accessories. Seeing different color combinations blend together and how our charms take up space with a bunch of other pieces. It&#x27;s nice to see how a combination of something woven or handmade goes well with a plushie accessory. It works because it gives a peek into aspects of their personalities and what makes it uniquely theirs.” </p><div><strong>What&#x27;s the most meaningful part about this partnership with SPATIO through Made For You? </strong></div><p>“It means a lot to us to be chosen to take part in something that showcases how we can express ourselves while also uplifting the local makers and brands. How do you guide customers who may not yet know what their personal style is?  </strong></div><p>“When we have our pop-ups, events and exhibits, we usually let the customers try on the pieces and we make recommendations on what styles would look good on them, we also show them different ways to wear and style the pieces they choose.”</p><p>“At SPATIO, we have several styles, silhouettes and looks for them to try on, from the Resort Collections, to the Travel Collections, our pieces are made for ridge to reef, city to nature and in between.”<strong> </strong></p><p>“The core &amp; DNA of STYLE ISLE is highlighting and always using/integrating Philippine Textiles in our collections, we also show the ‘features’ of the textiles to our customers, either letting them choose a textile based on their own personal heritage and helping them find their right fit, look and style; or basing it on what fits their body type and color tones.” </p><div> <strong>In a space like SPATIO, where there are so many options, what makes a piece feel truly “personal” to someone? </strong></div><p>“SPATIO is like a wonderful space where a lot of local brands reside. I think because all these local brands are in one roof, when one goes around, they can get a sense of each brand&#x27;s aesthetics and values and feel for themselves which ones resonate with them.” </p><p> “I think it&#x27;s an enjoyable experience for one to wander around the space and see which brand/s they connect with from there. Because a lot of the local brands housed there are created in small batches, special pieces and some even one of a kind or in limited edition, one gets a feeling that they are shopping something special, especially for themselves or for others.” </p><div><strong>What makes this partnership with SPATIO through Made For You very meaningful?</strong> </div><p>“It was meaningful for our brand to be in this pocket event, because we got to show customers how they can truly personalize and customize their pieces even further. It gives each customer an experience to own something that&#x27;s made only for them in mind. It was also a great opportunity for us, STYLE ISLE, to showcase our Woven Charms which can be converted into several types of accessories. How do small details like these transform the emotional value of a piece? </strong></div><p>“Having an engraved/personalized item transforms accessories beyond fashion into a more permanent wearable keepsake that you get to carry with you everyday.  A personalized gift says that the giver took the time and effort to connect with you.  For the wearer, there&#x27;s something powerful about portable memories that instantly remind you of loved ones, places or events that carry meaning for you.” </p><div><strong>What kinds of stories or messages do people choose to engrave, and what does that reveal about how we relate to objects today? </strong></div><p>“We&#x27;ve gotten some interesting requests, from somebody&#x27;s first new car, to saved Instagram posts. But the most common are personal or pet pictures (often downloaded from their phone cameras), names/initials, and short phrases revolving around love and well-wishes.  While personalized wearables have been a thing throughout history (think Victorian painted portrait cameos or memorial jewelry containing a loved one&#x27;s hair), I think there has been more variety in terms of subject matter, and this reflects how much more individualized and into personal expression we&#x27;ve become.” </p><p>“What also strikes me is how much tech and social media have become part of people&#x27;s lives today that the pics we get for engraving are all phone pics, and/or screengrabs from their Facebook or IG pages, and how much &#x27;faster&#x27; modern lives have become that a lot of the pics are snapshots of a &#x27;moment in time,&#x27; such as a daughter at play with her puppy, or a group of friends at someone&#x27;s birthday <em>salo</em>.  But while forms have changed, the underlying intent remains the same: personalized mementos reflect a universal human need for connection and meaning.” </p><div><strong>What makes this partnership with SPATIO through Made For You special and meaningful? </strong></div><p>“SPATIO has been very supportive of their brands since we&#x27;ve started with them, and what I like in particular is how they&#x27;re open to new formats and concepts.  So when they approached us to be one of the brands for their Made for You pop-up, it was great timing as we had just started offering our engraving and personalization add-on this year.&quot;</p><p>&quot;It&#x27;s exciting because SPATIO is the first place outside of our own store where we&#x27;re offering on-the-spot engraving, and we fit a niche for the SPATIO customer who is looking for truly personalized accessories at affordable price points.
