<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1779354844936FASHIONING THE TERNO - POSTER.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div>MANILA — The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), in partnership with Bench/Suyen Corporation and the local government of Biñan City, Laguna, is holding a terno-making workshop and exhibition aimed at promoting and preserving the Philippine national dress.The workshop, titled “Fashioning the Terno,” runs from May 19 to 24 at the Sentrong Pangkultura ng Biñan, while the accompanying exhibition will be open from May 22 to June 28.The Luzon leg of the workshop gathers 24 local designers from Metro Manila and several provinces, including Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bulacan, Batangas, Mindoro and Laguna.“Fashioning the Terno” began with its Mindanao leg in Iligan City in October 2025, followed by a Visayas leg in Iloilo City last April.The exhibition features ternos created by Ternocon 2025 winners and finalists Peach Garde, Bryan Peralta, Ram Silva and Windell Madis, alongside works by mentors Ezra Santos, Rhett Eala and Lulu Tan Gan.Participants in the Luzon workshop will undergo hands-on training and lectures on terno-making led by industry experts, including Ternocon founding artistic director Gino Gonzales, former mentor Lulu Tan Gan, current artistic director Ricardo Eric Cruz and 2020 chief mentor awardee Abdul Gaffar.Also serving as lecturers and mentors are Carolina de Leon, Ternocon 2020 bronze medalist Dinnes Obusan, Ternocon 2025 silver medalist Bryan Peralta and Ternocon 2025 Mentors’ Choice Award recipient Windell Madis.Participants from the Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon workshops will be eligible to submit proposals for the Ternocon competition scheduled for February 2027.
