<p>Britain&#x27;s National Health Service (NHS) is set to screen 100,000 newborn babies for over 200 genetic conditions, British media reported.</p><p>The initiative is described as a &quot;world first&quot; scheme to help early diagnosis for genetic diseases.</p><p>&quot;It was a no brainer,&quot; said mother of newborn baby Emilia, Dominika Nanus. &quot;She will benefit but also will contribute to the wider research population which will affect other children.&quot;</p><p>Lucy White, a mother of a child with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), urged parents to take part in the screenings.</p><p>&quot;Please don&#x27;t look back,&quot; she said. &quot;Take the opportunity to find out.&quot;</p><p>According to local media, blood samples from 500 newborn babies have been collected from 13 NHS hospitals.
