A jeepney driver's journey

Christopher Maquilan, a dedicated jeepney driver from Las Piñas, has faced numerous financial challenges.

Despite low daily earnings of 400 pesos and the added strain of his wife's illness, Maquilan has remained resilient. His determination to provide for his family has driven him to seek additional income through various means, including delivering scrap metal.

However, financial emergencies have often put Maquilan in a tight spot.

In the past, he had to rely on loans from friends to cover urgent bills. Fortunately, the introduction of GCredit has provided a much-needed safety net. With an instant credit limit of up to 50,000 pesos, Maquilan may now access funds to cover essential expenses like electricity and groceries.

A mother's love

Yuyen Villaerta, a mother from Taguig City, juggles the responsibilities of caring for her three young children while her husband sells vegetables.

Despite their combined efforts, making ends meet may be challenging, especially with rising costs of living and the added expense of renting a home.

Villaerta's health has further complicated their situation. Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in January, she has been relying on free medications from the barangay, but these are often in short supply. The constant worry about her health and the financial burden of medical expenses have taken a toll on her.

Thanks to GLoan, a feature on the GCash app, Villaerta now has access to a much-needed financial safety net. This loan has provided her with the means to purchase essential medications and ensure that her family's basic needs are met.

With GCredit, he has the option to borrow up to 50,000 pesos, which helps him tackle unexpected school and household expenses that may arise.

This support allows Arciaga to concentrate on his dream of becoming a chef while ensuring his family's needs are not compromised.
