<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1759189557032image1.jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-dragging"/><span class="fr-inner">Popular vloggers Cong TV and Viy Cortez with son Kidlat during the presscon of Kids Learning Ville. <em>Josh Mercado </em></span></span></span></div><p>Popular vloggers Cong TV and Viy Cortez were all smiles as they took their three-year-old son Zeus Emmanuel &quot;Kidlat&quot; Velasquez on stage as the official ambassador of Kids Learning Ville last September 28 at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila in Pasig.</p><p>Like his parents, Kidlat also exuded confidence in front of a large number of guests, displaying a personality already at his age and without a single tantrum. He even chatted with other kids, appreciating what was going on around him.</p><p>“Sobrang confident ni Kidlat kahit saan mo siya dalhin. Hindi siya takot magsalita. Ganoon namin siya ina-approach sa bahay,” Cortez said.</p><p>While Cong TV and Viy have already observed what their son&#x27;s interests are at home, they stressed that they will never make him to do things he does not enjoy, even as he grows older.</p><p>So, what do they envision for their son? “Hindi ko muna iniisip kung magiging doktor ba siya or vlogger. Basta maging mabuting tao. Gusto ko lang mag-enjoy siya. Kung saan siya masaya, ‘yun ang gawin niya sa buhay niya. Andito lang kami,” Cortez replied.</p><p>She went on to recall what her husband had told her about parenting their first child, sharing, “Nung buntis pa lang ako, sinasabi ko sa asawa ko na paano kung may ibang gusto ang anak namin. Ang sinabi niya sa akin, ‘Alam mo, ang anak mo, hindi mo pagmamay-ari. Nariyan ka lang para lang i-guide kung ano ‘yung gusto niya ‘pag laki niya.’”</p><p>“Susuportahan ko siya kung anong gusto niyang maging ‘pag laki niya,” she added.</p><p>Cong TV, on the other hand, believes that as parents, it is important to expose their son to a variety of experiences and possibilities. </p><p>“Tina-try lang namin na i-expose siya sa pinakamaraming puwedeng gawin as possible para makita namin kung saan kikinang ‘yung mata niya,” he expressed. </p><p>“Kung ano man ang gusto niya, susuportahan namin siya. Ngayon, tina-try naming ipakita sa kanya lahat ng puwedeng ma-experience sa buhay niya,” added the YouTuber. </p><p>What was fascinating to hear throughout the interview was Viy&#x27;s crediting her son&#x27;s nannies for his growth and development. It&#x27;s rare to hear celebrities praise babysitters as a major help in their lives.</p><p>“Malaking tulong ‘yung mga mama ni Kidlat. Ang tawag niya sa mga nag-aalaga sa kanya ay mama. Hindi lang kaming mag-asawa ang nagpalaki kay Kidlat. ‘Yung mga mama niya [rin] sa bahay. Hindi namin magagawa ‘yung kanya-kanya naming trabaho kung wala sila,” she pointed out.</p><div><strong>Homeschooling</strong></div><div><strong><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:958px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1759189650851image0.jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">Viy Cortez, Cong TV, son Kidlat with KLV’s Sarah Cortes, Mary Cruz, and Hanna Blas. <em>Photo by Josh Mercado</em><br/><em> </em></span></span></span></strong></div><p>As Cortez demonstrated that it truly takes a village to raise a child, she then discussed their decision to enroll their son in homeschooling, with a teacher mentoring him.</p><p>Their son Kidlat is currently enrolled at Kids Learning Ville (KLV), a home-based early childhood education provider, for which he also serves as an ambassador.</p><p>“Mayroon kasing mga nag-aakala na kapag pinasok mo sa homeschool, magiging mahiyain daw. Marami akong parents na natanungan. Hati ang opinion nila. Nung na-try na niya (Kidlat), mas naging ready siya, eh. Nagka-discipline. So, ready siya kapag nag-formal school na siya. Mas magandang may early exposure. Guided naman kami ng kanyang pedia. Nag-start siya mag-home school ng 1 1/2. Nakuha niya ‘yung discipline,” the proud mom said.</p><p>Cong TV added, “‘Yung pinakaimportante ay na-ready ‘yung mga basic na knowledge na puwedeng matutunan as early as possible sa bahay sa transition nila papunta sa (formal) school. ‘Pag pasok niya sa formal school, ready na siya.
