9 Works Theatrical brings ‘On Your Feet!’ to Manila stage

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1772259855293Media.jpg" style="width:633px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div>After its successful staging of &quot;The Bodyguard The Musical&quot; last year, 9 Works Theatrical is set to return to the stage this July 2026 with another jukebox production — &quot;On Your Feet!,&quot; the Broadway musical inspired by the lives and music of Gloria and Emilio Estefan.The upcoming production is based on the lives and music of the 26-time Grammy Award-winning husband-and-wife team. The book is written by Alexander Dinelaris Jr., and a score built around the Cuban-fusion pop music made famous by Gloria Estefan.It also features songs popularized by Miami Sound Machine, including &quot;Get on Your Feet,&quot; &quot;Conga,&quot; &quot;1-2-3,&quot; and &quot;Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.&quot; An original song &quot;If I Never Got to Tell You&quot; with lyrics by Gloria Estefan and music by her daughter Emily Estefan is also in the musical.The journey of Gloria and Emilio Estefan is considered one of Hollywood’s most enduring love stories. Both are married for 45 years (since 1978) with two children, and a monumental music partnership that created the Miami Sound Machine. They met in 1975 when Gloria was 17, and Emilio was 22.&quot;On Your Feet!&quot; opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre on November 5, 2015.  It received seven Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, three Drama League Award nominations, and a Tony Award nomination for Best Choreography at the 70th Tony Awards.Robbie Guevara directs the Manila run production with Daniel Bartolome as musical director.
