She even formed a group, Art Allies, to pursue this interest.After winning a Palanca (Essay division) a few years ago, and a National Book Award (co-editor for Best Anthology in Filipino) only last month, she told a friend that she wanted to do more art. “I’ve been painting at home,” she said while wishing she could have more free time from her hectic routine as a single mother.Late last year, Medina Marquez was at home when she suddenly fell to the floor. Select copies of books will also be on sale.
