Event stylist extraordinaire Dave Sandoval is aiming to set the tone for what’s next in event design through this year’s Star Magical Prom, transforming the annual gathering into a showcase of bold ideas and forward-thinking styling concepts.Known for styling some of the country’s most talked-about events, Sandoval said he and the ABS-CBN creative team developed a look that breaks away from previous editions while offering a glimpse of where event styling could be headed.“It is different from previous setups. People are expecting something new. Me and the ABS-CBN creatives really prepared the look for this year. Dave Sandoval/Facebook</div><div> </div>The setup combines fresh florals with metallic-treated elements, creating a mix of different texture that reinforces the futuristic aesthetic.“For the color palette, we focused on shades of blue, shades of purple, with hints of metallics like gold and silver. If you notice, we have hydrangeas and tulips — soft flowers. We also have unique flowers that we treated to become metallic, including anthuriums and succulents, to create a combination of soft and textured florals,” he explained. “It will be out of the box. We don’t really follow trends. We create designs that our classic and will still look beautiful ten years from now.” Beyond creating high-profile events, Sandoval also gives back to the community through workshops in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, where he shares his knowledge. “Laking Barangay Rosario ako. Sa simbahan. And I really want to give back to the community. I do workshops so they can also try on their own. Especially parish events,” he said.As one of the country’s most sought-after event designers, Sandoval continues to shape the industry’s creative direction, with Star Magical Prom 2026 serving as his latest statement on what’s possible in modern event styling.
