<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178331555408200 12.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Bela Padilla photo by Paw Castillo</div>MANILA — The Sandbox Collective has announced the cast for its staged reading of “People, Places, and Things,” bringing Duncan Macmillan&#x27;s acclaimed drama about addiction and recovery to Philippine audiences this August.Directed by Sab Jose, the production follows Emma, a successful actress whose life unravels as she enters a rehabilitation center and confronts addiction, memory and the difficult process of recovery. The lead role will alternate between actresses Bela Padilla and Gabby Padilla.The production marks Bela Padilla&#x27;s stage debut. She is known for her work in television and films including “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” and “Meet Me in St. Gallen.”Gabby Padilla has appeared in the films “Billie and Emma” and “Kono Basho,” as well as stage productions of “I Love You, You&#x27;re Perfect, Now Change” and “Tiny Beautiful Things.”Joining them is an ensemble of theater and screen performers led by Jake Cuenca, who will play Mark. Cuenca, whose credits include the television series “Los Bastardos” and “Tayong Dalawa,” previously appeared in The Sandbox Collective&#x27;s production of “Lungs.”Veteran stage performers Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Audie Gemora also join the cast. Lauchengco-Yulo will portray the Doctor, Therapist and Mom, while Gemora will play Paul and Dad.The cast also includes Robbie Guevara as Foster, Reb Atadero as T, Brian Sy as Shaun and Mark understudy, Mariella Laurel as Laura, Pamela Imperial as Charlotte, Miel Abong as Jodi, and Salve Villarosa van Schoonhoven as the Narrator and production dramaturg.First staged at Dorfman Theatre in 2015, &quot;People, Places, and Things&quot; is regarded as one of the defining contemporary plays of the past decade, exploring addiction, rehabilitation and the search for identity.The staged reading will run for four performances only on August 15 and 16 at The Blackbox at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell, Makati City.
