Cheating is never excusable, and it will never be okay.

Kim Chiu must have learned a thing or two about relationships and infidelity, playing the remorseless cheating wife Juliana Lualhati in the hugely successful digital series “Linlang,” which has recently premiered its teleserye version.

So, Kapamilya Chat asked her opinion on unfaithfulness being a crime, and here’s what she had to say. “When you talk about crime, meron kang sinaktan o meron ka talagang matinding-matinding ginawa. Sa subject na [cheating], matagal na topic talaga ‘yan, walang magpapatalo.”

However, she firmly believes that cheating will never be valid, and it can be considered a crime because it always hurts the other partner seriously.

“Kahit bali-baliktarin mo man, hindi ka man nakasakit physically, pero mentally and emotionally masakit talaga ‘yun. Hindi naman siya ever naging tama and never siya magiging tama kasi meron at meron ka talagang inapakang ibang tao.”

She added that only selfish people – those who only think about their happiness and not the well-being of those around them – would try to justify unfaithful acts.

Does the last statement make you think of Juliana Lualhati’s character? Kim describes Juliana, her on-screen persona, as a woman with a lot of love to give, but has also committed grave sins because of love.

If you think you already know Juliana, then you’re wrong, as “Linlang: The Teleserye Version” promises to dive deeper into Juliana’s backstory and reveal scenes that you’ve never seen before.

To give us insight about Juliana’s personality, Kim played the “Juliana Versus Kim” Challenge in this episode of Kapamilya Chat where she would react to statements and determine whether they describe Juliana or herself in real life.

Kim considers herself the more emotional one, as Juliana is more “palaban.” But despite their differences, both are strong and independent women.

Kim is also more capable of loving big than her character, who, being “palaban,” hasn’t experienced begging for love.

Of course, between them, Juliana is the “mapanlinlang” or deceitful one.
