Maricel shares basic makeup routine in latest vlog

Aside from being one of the most talented, versatile, and illustrious actresses in the local entertainment scene, Linlang star Maricel Soriano is also among its beautiful faces regardless if she’s already in her late 50s. And in her latest vlog, she imparted her basic makeup routine that further makes her look extra stunning and beautiful.

Her GRWM (or get ready with me) vlog commenced with a clip of her submerged in a bathtub while disproving the long-running rumor or myth that the secret behind her youthful glow and flawless and fair complexion is taking a bath with milk. She reminded everyone that milk is supposed to be consumed and not to be used for bathing, then teased to unravel her beauty secrets in another vlog as she instead demonstrated her basic makeup routine.

Although it’s already a widely known fact, the Diamond Star still went on to remind us that our makeup must complement our attire and must be suitable to the occasion we’re about to attend and/or the place where we are about to go. It should only be the right amount and not be way over the top.

Just like most makeup users, her first step is to apply concealer, which she does by using a little disposable sponge to dab it around her eyes. According to her, she applies concealer basically because she’s already 57 and aims to still look presentable. It was actually the late celebrity makeup artist and hairstylist James Cooper who taught her how to do her own makeup. She added that the pioneer Filipino beauty expert, whom she fondly called “Mother Goose,” used to always remindher that “less is more.”

Maricel then dabbed just the right amount of loose powder all over her face, and still applied very light and mild contour. After putting blush on top of her contour, she then combined two different eyeliners to make her eyes appear bigger and livelier. She also divulged that she’s not fond of curling her lashes anymore since she tends to cut them, compelling her to wear extensions.

And to conceal the glorious grey hairs visible on her forehead, she brushed hair mascara on those. She then swiped enough amount of lipstick on her lips, which was given to her by a friend, and applied highlight powder under her eyes and on her T-Zone. She sealed her makeup by spraying sublimage la brumeor a setting spray onto her face.

The Diamond Star shared that she usually wears this “no makeup” makeup look everytime she goes out with her two sons. While we need to be beautiful inside, she reminded us that it’s also highly important that it reflects how we look on the outside. And lastly, if we receive compliments for our physical beauty, the best retort according to her is, “It’s not my fault!”
