MMK “Villadarez Brothers” reminds Hero, Marlo, and Sky of heartwarming stories about their grandmas

The trio believes part of viewers’ excitement is brought about by relatability, considering how we Filipinos honor family and grandparents.The MMK offering circles around the three brothers Michael (Hero), Angelo (Marlo), and Anthony (Sky), who lived with Lola Dining, played by veteran actress Peewee O’Hara, after their parents’ demise. Challenges in pursuit for their dreams will be thrown their way. But because of Lola Dining as their epitome of love, the brothers will work hard to surpass all the obstacles.The Kapamilya actors built their chemistry and scenes with team effort since they weren’t able to talk with the siblings prior or during the shoot. They only got to interact with them afterwards. The Villadarez brothers, who reached out to them via social media, are already impressed how the lead stars accurately portrayed their characters as seen in the trailer.Marlo, Hero, and Sky said the script alone was enough to move them, as they were able to relate to the brothers’ tale in terms of the sacrifices of a breadwinner and the love for grandparents.Sky, who won his role via “Cast A Star,” is really close with his grandma who passed away last November. Sasabihin niya pinanood niya ako sa ganito, ganyan. Although their family rarely expresses love through words, they show it with actions and moral support. Hero misses his grandma, who used to watch all his MMK guestings before.Playing the Villadarez brothers, their first task was to establish chemistry, which Sky’s gregariousness was a big part of. Marlo and Hero said they’re the shy types while Sky is the complete opposite. They bantered about Sky’s non-stop chitchats, goes to show how comfortable they’ve become working with each other, although they have never met Sky prior to taping. The former expressed how proud he is seeing the singer-actor’s success, “Kahit na narating na niya ‘yung narating niya ngayon, na-witness ko kasi talaga ‘yung growth niya as an artist mula bata pa siya, sobrang nakaka-proud. They described the veteran actress as outgoing and funny, and at the same time generous with advice about acting and life experiences. Marlo was able to have deep talks with her about family since they both had family members who suffered from similar health conditions. Hero was also able to chat a lot with her during their travel from Manila to their location.
