The conversation started off with Joy disclosing that what prompted her to share the story of Auntie Marlita to our Kapamilya. This is because she firmly believes that her inspiring and relatable life story is worth sharing as viewers can surely learn from it. She also wants to immortalize everything that her aunt went through and all her sacrifices for their family as those reminds her of what selfless and unconditional love really means.In connection to that, the greatest lessons she ever learned from her late aunt is to love and care without expecting anything in return, to make sacrifices for the people that you love, to take responsibility of the family, and to forgive. Besides, her Auntie Marlita also inculcated to her to respect and value her family, as well as to stay strong in whatever life may bring us and don’t easily give up amid challenges because she inculcated to her that God won’t give us challenges that we cannot overcome.Joy also fondly recalled how a stern yet loving aunt Marlita was, as she described her as strict when it came to disciplining her and her sister, yet never failed to make them feel loved by never missing to celebrate special occasions and milestones in their family. She also admires how Auntie Marlita had a strong sense of empathy as she already knew what they need even before they ask her. Meanwhile, she wasn’t able to hold back her emotions when asked what she would like to say to her Auntie Marlita as she still found it difficult to move on from her demise. However, she believes that they would be able to accept it and slowly move forward in God’s time.They may not see her physically, but they know that she continuously guides them from wherever she is now. Joy will also never get tired of expressing her gratitude to her as she sets her as an example in everything that she does in life.
