From being the "Cheerfu-Langga ng Cebu" on Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 and that edition's 2nd big placer, Rain Celmar is soaring to a new level in her career with a series and an album.

Rain debuts as Olivia in Love at First Spike, her first series where she plays a spunky volleyball setter in a tight-knit group with Farrah (Reign Parani) and Sinag (Andi Abaya). Despite the challenge of emotional shifts in front of the camera, she embraces the role with passion. “She's like a konyong, maangas girl talaga in the series,” she described. ”So, a character close to who I already am. Kaya parang it was easy to play but at the same time, it was hard kasi I was trying to play Olivia but not to be Rain talaga.” Love at First Spike is coming soon on iWantTFC!

In playing the role of Olivia, Rain sought tips on how to better prepare for her role. She read the script and threw lines on her own to practice her delivery. Rain shared that since the scenes were not filmed in sequence, she found it challenging to transition from one emotion to another, but it nevertheless tested her versatility and adaptability.

“Actually po, like in a day, hindi naman in order ’yung sequence na gagawin. So, minsan you're happy, minsan you're sad in a day. So acting is really like playing with your emotions. That was the challenging part, lalo na it’s my first,” she shared.

Rain’s character is one to watch for as she poured her heart out for her character that many people of her age—and maybe even those younger or older than her—will find relatable.

“I think they're gonna expect a ‘light’ Olivia. That is, you know, very totoo, very totoo siya na character. And, I'm excited to show them a relatable character,” Rain said.

Her friendship with Reign and Andi on-screen turned into a genuine off-screen connection. She said, “Nagko-connect talaga kami sa humor. Parang gets talaga namin ang isa't-isa. And, puro tawa na lang talaga on set.” She’s glad to have friends she can rely on, especially because this is her first acting project.

Rain added, “Naging close talaga kami. We also eat out after… And, I would say na I'm so happy this is my first series with people na are fun to be with. Kasi, I was just imagining if my first series was with scary people, I would be very pressured. But then, because of them, my co-stars, who are very approachable, guiding, and welcoming, it was easier to work.”

When asked about the artist she looks up to the most, Rain shared, “Kathryn Bernardo talaga… I tried imagining myself, like, if I could act, how would I do it? Kasi, she's doing it so well, so interesting talaga.” Rain would love to act alongside Kathryn Bernardo, and she’s willing to take any role as long as she can share a scene with Asia’s Superstar. “P’wede naman pong kapatid kasi morena kami both,” she said, before continuing with a laugh, “Kahit sampalin niya pa ako sa role!”

Rain also ventures into music and is set to hold an album launch and fan meet, dubbed "Meteor Rain," on May 30, 2025 at the Skydome in SM North EDSA.
