Lisa Frankenstein star and Filipina actress Liza Soberano was not just an attendee at the Dodgers vs. Mets Major League Baseball (MLB) game, but she was also given the opportunity to throw the ceremonial 1st pitch where she excitedly stepped onto the mound of the Dodger Stadium on June 3 (June 4, MNL time) in Los Angeles, California. “I was so nervous, but I think I did okay?” she wrote in her Instagram post.

Dressed in her own Dodgers Baseball polo, she graced the stadium with glamour and pride as Filipinos cheered and waved Philippine flags to honor and celebrate the Filipino Heritage Night. “So honored to be amongst all my kababayans throwing the first pitch at the Dodgers vs. Mets game for Filipino Heritage Night!” she wrote.

Filipino Heritage Night is a regular sports event that aims to celebrate Filipino traditions, culture, and contributions. Alongside Liza Soberano were other Filipino talents who showcased their expertise and appeared at the event. There was Nico Blitz, a DJ, podcaster, and radio personality who hyped the crowd with the beats he dropped.

4-member girl group 4th Impact was also present at the event to perform and bring out the energy of Filipinos at the venue.

There was also the band, Zos!mo, who brought their Tagalog indie pop rock music to the stadium, and of course, Filipino singer-songwriter and record producer Jeff Bernat, who sang the National Anthem.

Deepening the celebration with a taste of Filipino, special Filipino dishes were part of the menu, such as Chicken Lumpia, Longanisa Sausage, Chicken Adobo Nachos, Ube Pudding Helmet, and Ube Malt.

Before Liza Soberano and these Filipino Talents, other Filipino celebrities and personalities also graced the previous celebrations of the Filipino Heritage Night, like Spider-Man actor Jacob Batalon and singers Ylona Garcia and Saweetie.
