So, we’re not even surprised to know that it’s one of Jane’s favorite things to do. She learned how to drive by practicing with their family car, and now this skill makes her life more convenient as she goes to tapings without a personal assistant, a glam team, or a driver – just her and her van, which was one her earliest purchases using her ‘artista’ talent fee.Jane loves long drives. She even enjoyed going behind the wheel for their lock-in taping in Baguio for “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tbmv2022">The Broken Marriage Vow</a>” in 2022. When the ride gets boring, she’d sing along with some rap music in the background.For this episode, Bernadette let Jane drive them to a café in Quezon City where they hung out and talked more about her life off-cam. She rehashed her stay inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, which she considers her first real taste of independence. She had no mom to cook or do the laundry for her. She only had herself – and her strong fighting spirit – in facing Kuya’s tasks and extra conflict inside the house. Those who’ve followed her on PBB might have noticed that she easily cries. Jane said that she’s “iyakin” but that doesn’t mean she’s weak.“Hindi naman talaga natin kaya all the time. Iiyak ka lang talaga, magbi-breakdown ka lang talaga pero go na ulit. Fight na ulit,” she mused.And though an independent woman (she lives solo with her cats), she’s still comfortable asking for help. “I don’t have a big circle but the circle that I have now are people na very supportive, that I can trust, that I can be myself, that I can feel safe.”Her boyfriend, fellow Star Magic artist RK Bagatsing is part of that circle. “He is always extending a hand or helping me in his own way.” He is her safe space. “I feel very comfortable with him. I can be myself when I’m with him. Gano’n din naman siya sa akin.” After a long taping cycle or a tiring day, spending time together is Jane and RK’s way to recharge. Asked about plans to settle down, Jane smiled and said that they’re focused on their blooming careers, considering the uncertainties brought about by the pandemic. “Sobrang happy lang kami with how our careers are going… We’re really maximizing and just enjoying the work and opportunities na dumadating.”The biggest opportunity, so far, comes in the form of her first teleserye lead role in “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/nagaapoynadamdamin">Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin</a>.” Shared the former “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/goinbulilit">Goin&#x27; Bulilit</a>” baby, “Matagal ko na ‘tong dream. Hindi rin naman siya dumating overnight. Hindi rin naging madali. Hindi rin ako sumuko. I just waited patiently for my chance.&quot; During those years of planting and watering and waiting, Jane thrived as hard as she could by taking every project that lands on her lap.She said that she’s not choosy when it comes to roles. Instead, she embraces whatever challenge or project she gets and tries to give it her best. That’s why she accepted “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/nagaapoynadamdamin">Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin</a>” right away. Besides, “It’s a really, really good project. I’m blessed enough na sa akin ‘to in-offer, sa akin ‘to binigay.”Jane morphs herself into her boldest TV persona yet. Part of the challenge is doing love scenes, the template of which she’s already learning by heart. She mentioned that it’s simply about paying attention to the choreography, “It’s different when you watch it and it’s different when you shoot the scene.”Since they were in a café, Jane had fun trying out different coffee recipes. It turned out she’s a certified coffee lover, and if she’s going to compare herself to a type of coffee, she’d be espresso “kasi matapang.”“There will be days na you will doubt yourself or doubt where you’re going but you just have to keep going at it,” she reiterated that success is like planting seeds and patiently waiting for them to bloom. “Kung kelan ka lowest, ang next mo is the breakthrough. You just have to keep going, keep pushing.
