Ria gets real about ‘kalat’ and sentimental items in Burn or Keep Challenge

Avid viewers of afternoon drama series “Nag-Aapoy Na Damdamin” know that Melinda, played by Ria Atayde, hates clutter, especially if it’s her mind and heart that become cluttered from all the information and thoughts that she has. She’s more likely to burn than hold on to ‘sentimental’ items.

Let’s see if Ria has a similar mindset in real life. Watch her play the “Burn or Keep” Challenge in which she gets to decide if an item is worth burning or keeping.

Starting off with photos of an ex, she answered “burn” without any second thought. That means she’d rather forget about an ex’s gifts as well. But “burning” them sounds so cruel to the environment, so she’d return them instead. Then, she’d give away the presents from her ex’s family.

“Re-gift” is her solution to items she received but doesn’t like.

Instead of burning or keeping, she’d rather donate clothes that no longer fit, as well as her unused purchases. “One man’s trash is another’s treasure,” they say.

Ria mentioned that she used to save movie and plane tickets until she realized “hindi mo pala siya kailangan itago kasi it’s just clutter.” She didn’t keep her school memorabilia, either.

When asked about electricity, water, and credit card bills, her honest response was, “Burn, burn, burn, but after you pay.”

The only things she’d keep are her old photos.
