<figure class="op-social"><iframe frameBorder="0" height="383" src="~//www.youtube.com/embed/roiHTbglBqE" width="510"></iframe></figure>MANILA - The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the immediate filing of graft, malversation of public funds, and falsification charges against Vice President Jejomar Binay and his son, former Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay.The criminal complaint against the vice president, an impeachable officer, will be filed after his term as vice president expires, the Ombudsman said.In three separate joint orders approved Wednesday, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales affirmed the finding probable cause that the Binays were involved in the allegedly anomalous bidding and construction of the P2.28 billion-Makati City Hall Building II.Joey Salgado, head of the Office of the Vice President Media Affairs, however, accused the Ombudsman of bias.&quot;So what else is new? We have always expected these resolutions from a biased and partial Ombudsman,&quot; he said in a statement.&quot;We have never expected fairness and impartiality from the Ombudsman. We look forward to disproving all their allegations in an impartial court.&quot;Salgado said the Ombudsman&#x27;s resolutions are plainly political tools against the Vice President, especially since Binay cannot be criminally charged while vice president.He noted the Ombudsman released its initial findings against the Vice President on the day he filed his certificate of candidacy last October 2015.&quot;Now it released another resolution on the Motion for Reconsideration just a few days before the start of the campaign period and after Vice President Binay regained his lead in the presidential surveys,&quot; he said.The campaign period for national candidates starts February 9 or next week.&quot;Sobra-sobra na ang panggigipit kay Vice President Binay at sa kanyang pamilya...Alam naman ng Ombudsman na hindi pwedeng kasuhan si Vice President, pero itinuloy pa rin nila. He said the move of the Ombudsman fits into the orchestrated effort of Mar Roxas, the Liberal Party (LP), and its allies including Roxas&#x27; mouthpieces masquerading as Palace spokesmen, to attack the Vice President.In the resolution, the Ombudsman said the Binays manipulated the bidding process to ensure the award of the project to Hilmarc&#x27;s Construction Company and MANA Architecture and Design Company.
