MANILA - The replacement for resigned Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert del Rosario will be announced in due course, the department's spokesperson said Tuesday.

The 76-year-old Del Rosario, citing health reasons, tendered his resignation effective March 7, 2016.

Del Rosario was on the board of one of Manila's largest mining firms, which has a stake in oil exploration in the West Philippine Sea, when President Benigno Aquino III appointed him as foreign affairs secretary in 2011.
