FDA warns vs sale of unregistered multivitamin brand

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/news-special1/nation/07/04/centrum-070416.jpg"/></figure></div>MANILA - The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) on Monday advised the public to avoid buying three unregistered products of the Centrum multivitamin brand.An FDA public health warning said Centrum Silver Adults, Centrum Adults, and Centrum Silver Men tablets &quot;pose potential danger or injury to the consuming public.&quot;The agency added that selling these products is in direct violation of Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.&quot;All establishments and outlets are hereby warned against selling and/or dispensing the above identified products. Anyone found selling the said products will be penalized,&quot; the FDA said.The FDA requested local government units and law enforcers to ensure that these products are not sold in their localities.Consumers were also reminded to purchase medications only from FDA-licensed establishments and to look for the FDA registration number on product labels.The distribution of unregistered health products may be reported to the FDA through hotline number (02)807-8275 or via e-mail to report@fda.gov.ph.
