DAVAO - A 20-year-old man was arrested after he was allegedly caught with shabu at a check point in Davao City.

Lt. Col. Nestor Mondia, Executive Officer of Task Force Davao, identified the suspect as Haidar Manebpel Unos, a resident of Barangay Tamontaka, Cotabato City.

Mondia said they received a tip that a man in yellow shirt carrying shabu will pass by the area.

When the van carrying Unos arrived at the checkpoint of Task Force Davao Sirawan at around 8:40 p.m., he immediately went out of the vehicle and pretended to pee across the street, but Special Civilian Active Auxiliary member Dennis Ortego chased him.

A big pack and another sachet of suspected illegal drugs were allegedly found in Unos' pouch. In a brief interrogation, authorities discovered that Unos was bound for Davao City to deliver the suspected drugs.

Unos is currently detained at the Toril Police Station.

Mondia said, they have intensified their inspection against illegal drugs. Last Tuesday evening, some 200 grams of suspected shabu were caught from a passenger bound for Davao City.
