MANILA - Tropical depression "Agaton" has made landfall over Aborlan town, Palawan, state weather bureau PAGASA said late Tuesday night.

In its 11 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said Agaton has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 75 kph.

Agaton, the first storm to hit the country this year, was last spotted at 40 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City.

It is forecasted to move west at 30 kph and expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday afternoon.
