Kasi ngayon nag-iipon po kami ngayon ng pangpa-anak ko at mga gamit ng baby&quot; ani Dela Cruz. </p><p>Kahit papaano, nagpapatingin siya sa local health center, pero aminado siyang may takot siyang pumunta ng ospital. </p><p>&quot;Nakakapagpa-check up po ako sa center kasi &#x27;yun po ang required, ‘pag sa ospital daw po delikado,&quot; ani Dela Cruz. </p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vVLv_xwe7XY?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>Ayon sa survey na ginawa ng Food and Nutrition Research Institute ng Department of Science and Technology, ang mga buntis at mga bata ang pinakaapektado ng pandemya dahil mas kakaunti ang kanilang access sa nutrition at ilang mga programa ng pamahalaan. </p><p>Ginawa ang pagsusuri sa halos 6,000 kabahayan. </p><p>Katunayan, bumaba ang bilang ng mga buntis at mga bata sa Operation Timbang program ng pamahalaan, pati ang mga nabibigyan ng libreng Vitamin A supplementation, supplementary feeding, deworming program at pre-natal check-ups. </p><p>Sa isang virtual briefing, sinabi ni Science Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña, 15.5 porsiyento sa mga buntis ang hindi nakakapag-pre natal checkup. </p><p>Dito, aabot sa 39.1 porsiyento ang takot na pumunta sa mga health facility. Aabot naman sa 34.8 porsiyento ang walang masakyan. </p><p>Samantala, 13 porsiyento, ay walang pera para pumunta sa mga pinakamalapit na health facility. </p><p>Bukod dito, nasa 14.2 porsiyento naman ng mga buntis ay hindi kumukuha ng vitamins at minerals supplements. </p><p>Pinakamataas din umano ang food insecurity o walang katiyakan sa supply ng pagkain sa 7 sa bawat 10 kabahayang may bata, o katumbas ng 70 porsiyento. </p><p>Nasa 80 porsiyento naman o walo sa bawat 10 kabahayan ang may food insecurity sa bahay na may mga buntis. </p><p>Dahilan umano ito para mangutang, humingi ng pagkain sa kamag-anak o kaibigan, pagba-barter, o kaya tinitiis na lang na hindi muna kakain alang-alang sa mga bata. </p><p>Mayroon mang ayuda, hindi pa umano ito sapat. </p><p>Giit ni Dr. Imelda Angeles, project leader ng Rapid Nutrition Assessment Survey, dapat mag-hire ng mga nutritionist ang mga local health officer para mapangalagaan ang kanilang nutrition programs. </p><p>&quot;There are a lot of existing services. What we need to say or do is to enhance and do some proper implementation at the local government units,&quot; ani Angeles. </p><p>&quot;We don’t have nutritionists and dietitians in the local level.
