Red rainfall warning up in Southern Leyte, Bohol

MANILA - State weather bureau PAGASA on Friday issued a red rainfall warning over Southern Leyte and Bohol due to rains brought by the tail-end of a cold front.

PAGASA said serious flooding is expected in low-lying areas and landslides are expected in mountainous areas.

An orange warning was hoisted over Cebu, particularly Southern Cebu, Metro Cebu, Asturias, Balamban, Toledo City, Pinamungahan, and Aloguinsan.

In these areas, intense rains of 15 to 30 millimeters may be observed in one hour and is expected to continue in the next two hours.

Northern Cebu, meanwhile, was placed under yellow warning level, where heavy rainfall may be observed in one hour and is expected to continue in the next two hours.

PAGASA advised residents and disaster officials to take appropriate action, monitor the weather condition and watch out for the next advisory at 11 p.m. Friday.
