MANILA- Malacañang condemned Thursday the &quot;dastardly&quot; murder of a former Batangas lawmaker as it vowed to pursue those responsible for his death.Authorities on Thursday discovered the charred remains of former Batangas 2nd District Rep. Edgar Mendoza and two others inside a burning vehicle in Tiaong, Quezon. &quot;This is an outrageous act of barbarism. The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be pursued till they are placed behind bars,&quot; Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/01/09/20/ex-batangas-congressman-found-dead-charred-inside-car-in-quezon">Ex-Batangas congressman found dead, charred inside car in Quezon</a></li></ul>Panelo also condoled with the family of Mendoza and assured them of justice.&quot;As the Palace condemns this recent felony, we express our deep condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues and constituents of the late former Congressman Edgar Mendoza,&quot; he said.&quot;We assure the bereaved family of the deceased that justice will be accorded by prosecuting the people behind this dastardly crime to the fullest extent of the law,&quot; he added.The former lawmaker left his home for a meeting in Calamba, Laguna on Wednesday with his driver and an aide. His family reported him missing when he failed to get home, police said.Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said he would order the National Bureau of Investigation to help police in its probe and in finding those behind the murders. &quot;The NBI’s forensic experts will also be of great help in identifying the victims,&quot; he said.
