We are glad because 20 million people will be benefitting from these free vaccines.)</p><p>Philippine officials will be meeting with representatives of the COVAX facility later Tuesday, he said.</p><p>The Food and Drug Administration is expected to decide on the emergency use authorization (EUA) of the British drugmaker&#x27;s COVID-19 vaccine within this week. </p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/01/11/21/fda-set-to-approve-pfizers-covid-19-vaccine-for-emergency-use">FDA set to approve Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use</a></li></ul><p>The Philippines has also secured 25 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Chinese manufacturer Sinovac, and some 50,000 are expected to arrive next month. That&#x27;s what we&#x27;re trying to do so that we can have a record-breaking daily vaccination rollout.)</p><p>Galvez said apart from Sinovac and what could be given by the COVAX facility, there may be many other vaccines to arrive within the first quarter of this year as the government is currently negotiating with other governments.</p><p>On Monday, the Department of Health reported 2,052 additional COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day tally since Dec. 18 last year. This pushed the country&#x27;s total to 489,736.
