Wife of cop linked to Korean’s slay says she has evidence husband is innocent

<p>Jinky Sta. Isabel, the wife of SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel, said on Saturday she has evidence that could prove her husband is innocent in the abduction and killing of South Korean businessman Ick Joo Jee.</p><p>In a phone interview with DZMM&#x27;s Henry Omaga-Diaz, Jinky said she has a &quot;recorded cellphone conversation&quot; in her possession allegedly involving Police Supt. Rafael Dumlao III, team leader of the PNP anti-illegal drugs group.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><div style="padding-top:66.375%"><div id="IVS_ABS_Body_Video_1_Container"> <ivs-player id="IVS_ABS_Body_Video_1" data-ivs-spid="3001339" data-ivs-key="e8c22c015ca9eafa76f1e3edfa03c603" data-ivs-vid="1458777" data-ivs-floating="1"></ivs-player> <script src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/js/iframe-parent.js"></script> <script src="https://player.ivideosmart.com/ivsplayer/v4/dist/js/loader.js"></script> </div></div></figure><p>Jinky alleged that Dumlao told her that Jee was involved in the illegal drug trade and money laundering, and has a boss named Albert Chua. </p><p>“Siya po kasi yung nagko-convince sa akin na kumbinsihin po yung asawa ko na mag-confirm doon sa mga pulis na ise-scenario nilang patayin,” said Jinky.</p><p>“Ganito po yung tenor ng aming conversation: Sabihin mo kay Ricky na i-confirm lang niya yung mga ise-scenario namin at ready na ang aming operatiba. Nandun na sa mga lugar. Ready na. Confirmation na lang ang kailangan namin mula kay Ricky.”</p><p>Dumlao allegedly promised Jinky that if her husband makes the confirmation, PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa would take back his manhunt orders against Sta. Isabel.</p><p>Jinky said her husband has not heard the recorded conversation because she surrendered it to the National Bureau of Investigation last Sunday.</p><p>Jinky said she doesn&#x27;t think her husband would agree to the plan because “malaki po ang takot niya sa Diyos.”</p><p>Sta. Isabel is accused of masterminding the abduction and killing of Jee inside Camp Crame. Sta. Isabel has repeatedly denied being involved. </p><p>Jinky alleged that a certain &quot;Colonel Macapagal&quot; also went to the Sta. Isabel house last week to deliver a flash drive that contains proof of ATM withdrawals and a counterfeit car plate of Sta. Isabel’s vehicle which was allegedly used for the Korean’s kidnapping.</p><p>Jinky said she did not know Macapagal&#x27;s full name. </p><p>In a separate DZMM interview, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said Jinky met her Friday at the Department of Justice and appealed that her husband was only “set up.”</p><p>“Nag-aappeal sa akin na naset-up daw yung asawa niya,” Aguirre said.</p><p>On Friday night, Sta. Isabel was taken into custody by the PNP after he sought protective custody from the NBI.</p>
